Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use Rooster. By using the app you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
Rooster is operated by Tropical Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. “We” and “us” below mean Tropical Labs Ltd.
What Rooster is
Rooster is an iPhone alarm clock that writes and records a personalised spoken briefing for your morning. It draws on what you allow it to read — your calendar, reminders, location and preferences — to produce that briefing.
Please don’t rely on it for anything critical
Rooster is a consumer alarm clock. Alarms depend on your device: on iOS letting the alarm ring, on the phone being switched on, charged, and not in a state that prevents sound. Software and hardware fail. Do not rely on Rooster alone where missing a wake-up would be seriously harmful — for a flight, a medical appointment, or anything safety-critical. Keep a second alarm.
The briefing is generated automatically. It can be wrong, out of date, or incomplete — including the weather, your schedule, and the news. It is not professional, medical, financial or legal advice. Check anything that matters.
Subscriptions, trials and cancellation
- Rooster is a paid subscription, offered monthly or yearly. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then. Length and price are shown in the app before you start.
- Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple Account, and subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us.
- Invite codes and promotional offers may carry their own terms, shown when you redeem them. They are personal to you and have no cash value.
Your content and your accounts
You keep everything that is yours. Granting Rooster access to your calendar, reminders or location does not give us any ownership of it, and we use it only as described in our Privacy page. You are responsible for having the right to connect the accounts you connect.
Fair use
Don’t use Rooster unlawfully, don’t try to break, overload or reverse-engineer it, and don’t resell or redistribute the audio it generates for you as if it were your own product.
Availability and changes
Rooster is under active development. Features may change, and we may suspend or discontinue parts of the service. If we make a change that materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you.
Ending it
You can stop using Rooster whenever you like — cancel the subscription and delete the app. We may suspend access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
Liability
Rooster is provided as-is, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t exclude liability for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Nothing here affects consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can bring proceedings in your own courts. Nothing here takes away the consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
